Christmas Eve - Remembrance

This Christmas Eve is a bit somber because John and I are not with family, and we're not with each other.

We're not complaining; there are many military and other U.S. government public servants over here in theater - but it makes me think of those who went before us and didn't come home.

For those of you who came to our wedding, you know how important Kip Taylor and his wife, Nancy, were to us. Kip was killed in the attack on the Pentagon September 11, 2001. What is not shown on this tombstone is the inscription on the back of his gravestone. Nancy died of breast cancer a little more than 2 years after Kip. Supremely sad. You can read their story here: http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/kptaylor.htm.

When I went to church tonight, I was reminded of how short life is, and how important it is to ensure those we love know, without a doubt, how MUCH we love them.

"The Best Use of Life is Love. The best expression of Love is Time. The best Time to Love is Now."
