Calm before the "Storm"

Looking forward to a couple more days of Normal before we head back to Purgatory.

My mom and dad, my brother and his girlfriend, and my Aunt Nan are all coming for a short visit - arriving from Tuesday to Friday.

On Sunday, John and I will run the Disney marathon, everyone leaves on Monday, and John and I return overseas for a five-monther this time - we leave Tuesday.

Mom will stay and honcho things for us here, and Aunt Nan will stay and visit for a short spell. It's a sister thing. :)

So, today John repainted the guest room a lighter shade of blue (he'd put the wrong color on originally, and though it didn't look bad - it just wasn't what we wanted to look at for two years...)

And I cooked a goose.

Not his goose, mind you. Just a goose. I love that rendered goose fat for roasting potatoes, popping popcorn, or flavoring a pot of beans. There's nothing like it.

Oh, and we made our resolutions today. Simpler, as we get older:

Don't look back. Look forward.

Be a joy to someone else this year.

Be Grateful.
