We ran 16 Saturday.
First 6 were a walk in the park.
Next 3 were easy but we would rather have been doing something else.
Next 3 I could definitely feel it. I would rather have been doing anything else.
Last 4, I was sweating like a farm animal and only pride in keeping up (sort of) with My Beloved and not quitting was driving me on.
John did great - soldiering on as always, slowing down to stay with me the last 4 miles.
Good Guy.

Even now, hours and hours later, my ankles and knees are wishing to be put up, thank you, and I'd like to order a crotchety little furry heating pad to lie across my lap like this:
Can't wait to see that little bugger in about 3 weeks.

Congrats, Hol! 16 is no small feat! I'll be right there with you guys...the next time! I'm even going to look into yoga for flexibility. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteYou guys rock! I ran once something likea week ago...I put my back out shoveling the driveway with Amy (to make sure she would make the flight...yes, why yes it WAS 8 hours roundtrip to take her to the airport) and I'm simply a tub of lard reading about other people's exercise. I'm glad my sister made her flight, though, and it's been good for the driveway to melt faster because it was shoveled...
